Continuing a tradition that commenced in 1949, the Christmas Bowl is the combined giving of Australian Churches.
Sadly, the Christmas Bowl is needed now more than ever,
with unprecedented numbers of people displaced around
the world and millions more suffering from severe hunger.
Supporting the Christmas Bowl is a powerful act of faith
and love as well as a tangible act of solidarity. By taking
part, we’re affirming that every displaced or hungry person
is an individual worthy of empathy and compassion.
Projects supported in 2016 include help to Zimbabwean farmers, healthcare for Sri Lankan refugees in Tamil Nadu, India, disaster prevention in Vanuatu, Syrian Refugee housing in Jordan, vocational training in Gaza, Palestine and justice programmes in the Phillippines.
Envelopes for your gifst available in the seats this morning, or visit https://www.actforpeace.org.au/Christmas-Bowl for information, resources or to donate on-line.
