Conference Theme: Healing through Story

The theme of the 2008 Conference of the Australian Church Library Association was “Healing Through Story”. Forty-seven church librarians, including nine from intersate, gathered at Nunyara to share ideas and hear inspiring speakers. Christobel Mattingley spoke on her books on healing and war, Malcolm McArthur spoke on biography and autobiography, and Sarah Agnew spoke on Healing through Bible Studies. We also had other speakers on topics which were both practical and inspirational. The conference began with a tour of three libraries which included Blackwood Uniting Church.

Award winners and life members – J Murchland (Life Membership), S Crabb (Church Library Ministry Award), Blackwood Uniting Church Librarian J Belling (Margaret Stiller Award for Service to ACLA 2008), J Di Benedetto (Innovation Award), and R Hardie (Life Membership).
