Mission & Justice News
Mission and Justice news coordinators, Alastair and Enid are excited with the enthusiasm shown by several people for participating in some of our themes recently.
- Firstly, Jane Bassham has consented to be the convenor of a group of people interested in West Papua They will look into continuing to assist in whatever ways are appropriate. Two more students will probably come here next year and we will do some fundraising for the needs of the Numfor Clinic. A big thank you, Jane.
- Secondly, Janet Paull has volunteered to organise the cake stall at the Create-about days on 26th & 27th November. This will raise funds towards the West Papua projects. A big thank you, Janet.
- Thirdly, Church Council has decided that supporting the Blackwood Hills Circle of Friends in their work with refugees should be one of our main local themes for next year. This is particularly appropriate with the news of the new detention centre at Woodside.
We look forward to a great year in 2011.
