South Australian Pioneer: B. Herschel Babbage
Did you know that the City of Mitcham Council is Adelaide’s second oldest Council area founded in 1853?
In this Council area, we have a ward named after B. Herschel Babbage who is the focus of this week’s talk in the SA Pioneer series. He is buried at St Mary’s Church of England, South Road, where he worshipped and near where he had a large vineyard.
There is much more to this man than winemaking!
Join us on Thursday May 23 at 10.15am for morning tea and find out the story of another of our South Australian enterprising pioneers. Cost $5. Enquiries Anne Grear.
