Church Council along with our Ministers Cogs and Phil are reviewing the role of Elders within the life of Blackwood Uniting Church. It has been decided to clarify these roles as Elders being the Spiritual Oversight of the Congregation, and Church Council as its Governance & Management.

To facilitate the function of each, we seek to separate the two in our community life and break the link between Elders and Church Council meetings. Some of the existing seven Elders will continue in either/both capacities, and some will remain as Elders. This creates space for the election of other or new Elders which will be decided at the AGM on November 17.
