Family Ministry Update
As the Family Ministry finishes for another school term, here are some recent events:
Messy Family Fun Night – “Unfrozen” Twelve children with eleven adults and eight helpers had a lovely night last Friday. Crafts included crowns, antlers, and snowmen socks toys. Our science experiment was making an ice castle, “sledding” was also a popular activity. We sang Karaoke from the movie “Let it go!” with much enthusiasm. And the “Moose Balls” and ice blocks were a lovely tea. We finished with a message about God’s love (which we talk about in Messy Church all the time) has the capacity to unfreeze us.
Playgroup – finished a lovely term with Easter-based crafts and an Easter egg hunt in the church and a short message about chickens and new beginnings in God’s love . We had about 30 children from 20 families attend. Many parents expressed their appreciation for playgroup including one adult who gave gifts of home-made chocolates to the helpers.
Mainly Music – finished the term on a quieter note, there were 20 children from 12 families. Again this was Easter themed as we sang our little songs and as we remembered God’s love at Easter. Each family received a bulb and a special Easter message telling them about the wonder of new life at Mainly Music.
Family Ministry is a hospitality-based ministry and there is need for more helpers in the kitchen at different times. If you are able to cut up fruit and serve a cuppa on Friday mornings at Mainly Music please see Carys for further information. Or a cuppa and biscuits at Playgroup on Mondays please see Marnie. Or for Messy Church or Family Fun events please see Judy Adami or Cogs.
We really appreciated everyone who joins in and helps out. For without enough volunteers these ministry opportunities will become unsustainable. Also, we have lots of fun, would you like to join in? Prayers for the families and the ministry are appreciated too!
Thank You, Cogs & Phil.
