BUC Survey of Community Interest
The Uniting Church recently released a “Background Paper” on Justice
Issues with which it is engaged – there were 31 of them listed! They include, for
example, Indigenous Constitutional Recognition, the Campaign for Australian
Aid, Environmentally Sustainable Practices, Support for Rural Communities [to
name a few].
In the community we share here at Blackwood Uniting different people will hold
different passions about these (and others).
The Justice Team is currently shaping its year of activities and is keen to
identify which of these we should focus on as a Community; either in worship
services or other events.
We have therefore shaped a Survey of Community Interest which the Team and
Church Council will each compete. Rather than circulating this to all in
Blackwood Uniting, we invite interested people of the community to fill in a
response by requesting a copy of the Survey from The Justice Team or the
Church Office.
Or if you have a particular interest and concern for an Issue that you would like
to see shared in community life, please speak to Rev Phil Hoffmann or Anne
Magarey [Chair, Justice Team].
