Blackwood Methodist / Uniting History ‘Task Group’
In June this year the Uniting Church will mark 40 years since the coming together of our former Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational traditions. There will be events and services to celebrate this occasion.
Church Council has been discussing how we might make this an offering to our local community; to mark and celebrate the significance of Blackwood Methodist/Uniting in our local history. In our thinking is a Sunday afternoon gathering of memorabilia, perhaps a speaker and re-union of former members. Mitcham Council has a stock of historical photographs of Ruth Sabine’s in which the Church community and its people figure prominently.
Are you interested in joining a single-task, time-limited group of people to discuss and prepare for any such event? If so, please let Phil or the Office know by email or phone. If you have ideas for such an occasion, please let us know.
