At the congregation meeting held on 23 July 2023, Rev Dr Adrian Brown as chair of Church Council presented 7 names to be nominated for the JNC. He explained that the JNC needs to be a balanced group that represent the whole life of the congregation (9:15, 11am, Messy Church etc).

Church Council had approached a number of people to ensure we achieved this balance, but this didn’t preclude additional nominees. No further nominations were received. Questions from the congregation were taken.

Ewan Hazeldine, acting as Chair of the meeting, asked for a show of hands to confirm all 7 nominees to the Joint Nominating Committee – no dissenting votes. All 7 nominees for the JNC confirmed unanimously.

Church Council, on behalf of the congregation, thanks these members of the JNC for volunteering their time to discern who should be called as the next Minister of Blackwood Uniting Church. The JNC will meet in September to start the process.
