Last days of the trip, being spent in Malta, expertly guided by Karen’s brother-in-law Ian and wife Anne, who are long-time residents.

A visit to the Hypogeum (meaning underground), a circa 4000 BCE multi-level burial chamber, carved out of solid rock; it’s just inconspicuously placed in a back alley of the city. Sadly, no cameras allowed.

Breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour and the walled city of Valetta, built as a fortress in the 1500s. A place soaked in history.
