Open Garden Day
Open Garden Day in Support of Refugees – BUC Church Council recently decided that one of its themes for its Mission and Justice work this year will be “journeying with the Blackwood Hills Circle of Friends in its work with refugees and asylum seekers”. At the Circle’s meeting on 3rd Nov, its members welcomed this initiative, & resolved to work with BUC in carrying the initiative forward.
An opportunity has now arisen for BUC members to help the Circle in its fund raising efforts for the benefit of refugees and asylum seekers. Nan Davies will be opening her beautiful garden for this purpose: Sun Nov 28th, 11am-4pm at 17 Sherbourne Rd, Blackwood, cost $5 – Includes Tea/Coffee and Scones. Total proceeds will go to support refugee and asylum seeker families living in the community, and in detention at Inverbrackie, Christmas Island and elsewhere.
