On EXTREME and CATASTROPHIC FIRE BAN DAYS this Church is a designated “SAFER REFUGE” for those who choose to leave their homes. To make this possible 10 or 12 volunteers from the congregation are required for a roster of people (usually in pairs) willing to supervise those who come. No special skills are required other than a willingness to make people feel welcome. Russell Grear will provide guide lines and written information on what needs to be done. All that you need, including a “battery powered radio”, will be provided. Please speak to Russell if you would be willing to be part of this aspect of our service to the community and let your neighbours know that if they are seeking a “refuge” on extreme or catastrophic fire ban days the Church will be available.
