Planning Ahead – Dr Chris Baker
The Urban Mission Network and Pilgrim Uniting Church Adelaide will be hosting the visit of Dr Chris Baker, in late September. Chris has extensive experience over the past twenty years in helping congregations understand and respond to the changing character of local communities. A three day conference will be held from Tuesday 24 to Thursday the 26 September at Pilgrim Church and on Friday morning the 27 September Chris will speak at a forum being organised with the support of the SA Council of Churches. More information about the conference program is available on the UMN and Pilgrim Church web sites. Keep these dates in mind and plan to attend.
Dr Christopher Baker of the William Temple Foundation, Manchester UK will be guest speaker at the second National Conference of City Churches to be held at Pilgrim Uniting Church, 14 Flinders St, Adelaide Tuesday 24th Thursday 26th September 2013. Dr Baker has researched and written extensively on the implications of the changing urban scene for the church. As Director of Research for the William Temple Foundation (http://www.wtf.org.uk/) and Director for the Centre for Faiths and Public Policy at the University of Chester where he is also Senior Lecturer in Urban and Public Theology.
