- Dr Deidre Palmer asks all Presbytery/Synod meeting attendees to bring two hard copy photographs which show signs of hope in a ministry context AND to email communications@sa.uca.org.au high resolution pictures as a jpeg attachment, or post photographs to the Presbytery and Synod office before 25 October. The photos will be exchanged with Presbytery and Synod meeting participants to provide for discussion and prayer throughout the course of the three days.
- Spicer UC in St Peters is holding an art exhibition and garage sale on Saturday 2 November 9am-3pm. Details are available from spicer.org.au or office 8362 3771. Many handmade items will also be available for sale. Come and do your Christmas shopping early!
- Come to Adelaide West Uniting Church on Saturday 9 November at 7.30pm for a celebration of music and singing, all for $10. The program includes a gospel choir, a quartet and Malcolm Gordon performing some of his own music – “Into the Deep”. Malcolm is a musician, singer and song writer from New Zealand. - On Wednesday 13 November 7.30pm in Room S1, Adelaide College of Divinity, Dr Tom Calma, AO, Co-chair of Reconciliation Australia will discuss a range of issues that impact on First Australians realising their full potential including Reconciliation, Recognition, Justice Reinvestment and Health.
Dr Calma has formerly served as the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner and the Race Discrimination Commissioner. He is currently Co-Chair of Reconciliation Australia, Co-Chair of the Close the Gap Coalition and National Coordinator for Tackling Indigenous Smoking. There will be time for conversation and sharing of insights.
