At its Thirteenth (13th) Assembly, the Uniting Church in Australia expressed its commitment to the Covenant with the Uniting Aboriginal and Islander Christian Congress by calling its members to a week of prayer and fasting for justice for First Peoples. It was decided that this would be the week of March 17th to 23rd.

At a meeting which Rev Phil and Tricia Rushton attended on our behalf last week (Friday, February 14th), President Rev Dr Andrew Dutney explained that this is not primarily an act of political voice, but a spiritual practice, an action “given to God”, acknowledging our “not knowing” in this complex relationship.
