Roundabout Playgroup wound up for the year on Monday with a special Christmas-themed session. Thank you to all who contributed to the success of this Christmas celebration, it was a wonderful occasion. We had a face-painter who created magical images on faces & arms, a Christmas tree craft for the children and the angel craft for the adults; Carys told the Christmas story and Bruce and family plus Susie (one of the mums who plays guitar regularly for our singing sessions) played Christmas carols for a great sing-along. The Dene room was a heart-warming sight, full of children and adults listening to the story and joining in the carols. Tyler presented graduation certificates to 7 children who are leaving for Kindy, ELC or school next year. We also recognised the contribution of Briony Hymers, one of our mums who has helped with crafts for the past 4 years and has been a parent rep on the committee for the past two years; she will be greatly missed but we’ll still see her and her family at Messy Church. And we acknowledged the contribution of volunteer Jean Finlayson who has finally decided to call it a day after 6 years on the morning tea roster; Jean has been with us since we started, and we thank her with much appreciation for her faithful service. If you would like to volunteer to fill Jean’s place on the roster, speak to Jean Potter – we could do with some extra volunteers, you have a turn once or twice a term and it isn’t onerous, in fact it is very rewarding. Thank you to all who have helped in so many ways this year. It is truly a BUC community effort. We look forward to another good year in 2016 – our 7th year of Playgroup at the Roundabout.
