Pilgrim Uniting Church Symposium
On Monday 18th September at 7.30 pm Pilgrim Uniting Church is holding our annual Symposium, with the theme “Is “No Religion” the new religion?”. We would be grateful if you could assist us in spreading the word about this event.
The Symposium is a collaborative effort between Pilgrim Uniting Church and the Research Unit for the Study of Society, Law and Religion (RUSSLR) of The University of Adelaide. The Annual RUSSLR Oration will be delivered by Professor Linda Woodhead of Lancaster University, who has conducted extensive research on this trend in Britain and Europe. She is Professor of the Sociology of Religion and is known internationally for her work in public theology.
The panel members who will contribute from the Australian perspective are Rev Christy Capper, Director of Missiology at the Uniting College for Leadership and Theology, and Rev Dr Greg Elsdon, who has been the Chief Minister for the Churches of Christ in South Australia and the Northern Territory, well known for his Ecumenical activities in this state and interstate.
After the Symposium we will cater for a light supper. Please let me know if you would like me to send through a poster to print for your noticeboards.
