Drought Disaster Relief Request: Sunday 24th November
DROUGHT DISASTER RELIEF REQUEST: SUNDAY 24TH NOVEMBER (retiring offering)
As most would know there are many parts of Eastern and Central Australia that are doing it tough because of the worst drought on record. There is a very poor church presence in most of these areas at a time when people need support the most. In these circumstances Frontier Services is doing a great job, but the demand is high and resources are limited. This provides the Uniting Church with the opportunity to step up to the plate and for Blackwood to make an additional contribution over and above what we contribute from sales of dried fruit and personal contributions.
To this end, the church council has agreed to have a retiring offering after worship on Sunday 24th November. Congregation members and visitors are encouraged to give generously to this extremely worthy cause. The offering will be passed on to Frontier Services to assist them in assisting those in need.
