SIMULTANEOUS PARTICIPATION IN SUNDAY WORSHIP!
As a result of the spatial distancing requirements due to the coronavirus, we are now, as you know, pre-recording our Sunday worship services and, prior to the Sunday, posting a link to the YouTube clip on our Blackwood Uniting Church website. Once the link is up, it is possible to view the worship service video at any time you like.
However, I would suggest that you don’t just watch the service at any old time.
Last Sunday, one of our members, Jane, made the wonderful suggestion, on the Blackwood Uniting Church Facebook page, that each of us sit down on Sunday morning at 9.00am and watch the service together. This was a truly beautiful experience. As Karen and I commenced watching the service at 9.00am, it was deeply moving to know that we were watching, singing, praying, and worshipping God with so many others from our faith community. Yes, we were spatially separated, but we were nonetheless…connected!
I would encourage you to do likewise, that is to join us in watching worship at 9.00am this coming Sunday, and also on subsequent Sundays, knowing that you do so together with your community of faith!
If 9.00am on a Sunday morning isn’t your idea of a good time, preferring instead the more civilised time of 11.00am, then I would encourage you to make contact with likeminded members, so that you can share that time of joint worship together.
We are the Blackwood Uniting Church faith community, and we continue to be a community during these unusual times!
