Appointment of Technical Facilitator
APPOINTMENT TO THE BLACKWOOD UNITING CHURCH STAFF OF TIM LEE AS TECHNICAL FACILITATOR
It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment to the Blackwood Uniting Church paid staff of Tim Lee as Technical Facilitator. The church council has appointed Tim to this 1 day/week role, initially for a 3 month period, subject to review at the end of the period.
Since Sunday 22nd March, we have been pre-recording worship services at Blackwood, and posting the videos online. During the various worship services you will have seen many on-screen contributors to worship: worship leaders, preachers, Bible readers, musicians and singers. One person you have not seen during these worship services is the person behind the camera: Tim Lee. Tim has been responsible for the filming of the various elements that go into worship – video and audio elements that essential remain “fragments on the cutting-room floor” until Tim weaves them into the integrated whole which you watch on Sunday morning. During the 8 weeks we have been doing pre-recorded worship, Tim has successively introduced layer upon layer of subtlety to the online worship experience, a worship experience that is now appreciated not only by Blackwood Uniting Church, but also by Belair UC, Newland UC, Upper Sturt UC, and further afield.
The Church Council unanimously believes that Tim’s extraordinary technical skills and aptitude, his creative thinking and passion, make him the ideal ‘technical facilitator’ as we negotiate what it means to be church in these spatially distanced days. Tim has been given a wide-ranging brief to look into the feasibility of various technologies and approaches in facilitating our ongoing connections both within the church, and with our wider community.
Welcome on board, Tim!
