The next Church Book Club meeting is at the MCARTHURS at  2.OO p.m. on Tues 16 March.  We are reading Bernie Clarke’s The Spear and the Cloud, a biography of the outstanding Yolnu ( Arnhem Land) leader.  Bernie was in charge of the church’s missions to aboriginal people for many years, an advocate and adviser to the Government in Canberra.  (He was the son of Rev Ern Clarke, minister in P.N.G. and at Mogumber W.A. and a  was a kind of “ blood brother” to Gatjil.)  Ern , in retirement looked after finances here in Blackwood where Carolyn Linggood, Bernie’s sister was also a member.
