Dear Families
Homestay Families Required
For Two Year 11 Students
Due to a change in circumstance, we are currently seeking Homestay accommodation, to commence as soon as possible for two male Year 11 students currently enrolled within our International Student Program.
Whilst these two students currently live together with one family, each student is happy to be re-homed individually, or remain together (in separate rooms), depending on your family’s circumstances and available space.
Both are male students with sound English skills and have been part of our St John’s Grammar community since the beginning of 2019, originally living in our School’s Boarding House, before moving into our Homestay program at the end of 2020. Both students are dedicated to their school work and achieve great results. They both enjoy socialising and playing games in their spare time.
If you have a spare room available and within close proximity to the Senior Campus and would consider being a support person to one or both of these international students, this could be a great opportunity for you.
Hosting an international student means they will become a member of your family. As a Homestay family, it is your responsibility to provide them with a safe, supportive and welcoming home environment. You will support them, while we will support you.
Homestay families are reimbursed $300 per week, which is paid for on a fortnightly basis by the School.
Opening your home to one of our International students is a mutually rewarding experience which offers the opportunity to experience another culture and share your own.
If you have ever considered the possibility of becoming a Homestay family, please contact our Homestay Coordinator, Candice Flinn on 8278 0293 for a no-obligation chat to find out more about this opportunity. We can also put you in touch with other Homestay families for their perspective on the experience.
Further information about the School’s International and Homestay Programs can also be found on our website or by emailing Candice at cflinn@stjohns.sa.edu.au.
Please note: Homestay families do not have to be current parents of the School. If you know of someone outside of the parent community who may be interested in becoming a Homestay, please forward this information to them.
We thank you for your support of our International Student Program. |
