Free public screening of the movie “Regenerating Australia”
Back in January we held a public screening of the climate action movie “2040.” It was a very well attended event, with people appreciating both the movie, and the discussion that followed, about ways in which we can make a difference as individuals and as a community.
We plan to run a follow-up event on Saturday 27th August.
The creator of “2040” – Damon Gameau – has created a short (~20 minute) film “Regenerating Australia” that explores how we can each contribute, in practical ways, to the regeneration of our continent. The film will be followed by a facilitated discussion on ideas sparked by the film and what positive changes we can make. The facilitator will be Craig Wilkins, CEO of the Conservation Council of SA.
Craig has worked in the areas of public health, social services, environmental change and politics for the last 30 years in for-purpose organisations, in the public service and in Parliament House. For the last 8 years he has been the Chief Executive of the state’s peak environment body, the Conservation Council of SA. He straddles the insider/outsider divide as an appointed member of the Premier’s Climate Change Council, the Adelaide Parklands Authority and a range of working groups and committees, including the Grote Street Business Precinct, while also leading and assisting community campaigns and movements for change. Craig is a passionate believer in collective altruism – the act of people generously working together on behalf of others and the planet we call home.
The event is free, but you should book through Eventbrite (see link below).
