Roundabout Playgroup end of term 3
Next Monday 26th September is our final playgroup for this term. We will have our final session for this term’s theme (Our Bodies) with a cautionary tale about sleep. We are celebrating the end of term with a pyjama party.
We’ve had a fun term with a variety of activities on our theme of “I can…”: we celebrated the Commonwealth Games with physical activities and games in the hall; we dressed up for a parade for Book Week; we made hand print cards for Fathers Day; we practised brushing teeth with shaving cream, PVA glue and glitter; made Magpie Scarers and patty pan flowers for the start of spring, and Messy Hair men puppets this week. What a term!
My grateful thanks to all who have stepped up this term to help cover for absences of some of our regular team. Special thanks to Judy Lower who has stepped in to do songs for the term in Carys’s absence, to Bruce for never giving up on us, to Tony O and all those who have helped with setting up and clearing away, to Jackie O for maintaining our welcome desk, the database and communication with families, to Glenis Reid for filling in on the welcome desk when needed, to Sylvia Syta for reading stories and helping with Monday morning organisation; and to the team doing morning tea, sometimes at very short notice. It makes such a difference to always have people to rely on. If you would like to help out in term 4 we’d love to have you.
Our best wishes go with Carys as she has her hip replacement operation, and prayers for Bruce as he awaits his.
Playgroup will resume after the school holidays, on Monday 17th October. Our theme for term 4 will be ‘Animal Tales with a Twist.’
