On Monday 12th we finished the Playgroup term with 11 children who enjoyed the telling of the Christmas story, a Christmas craft using recycled cards and lots of glitter (thanks to those who have passed their cards on to me in previous years), and sang Christmas carols to the accompaniment of Bruce’s recorders. Jackie and Cathy prepared morning tea with mini cupcakes, Christmas cake and Christmas tree shaped watermelon. We then farewelled Sylvia and Aurora, whose family have been with us in various family activities for at least 7 years. We hope to still see Sylvia at art classes next year.

Thanks to all who made it a lovely ending to what has been a difficult year, and thanks to all who have helped out through the year with setting up, clearing away, morning tea and much more. Special thanks to Jackie O on the welcome desk and database, Judy L for finding songs and leading the singing every week for the last six months, Bruce for always turning up and helping in many ways – and he’s very much beloved by the children, Tony O and Trevor S for regularly turning up to both set up and clear away, and to Sylvia for all she contributed to the program over the years but this year especially
