Some of you will have heard Diane Howarth speak at Blackwood UC in March.  She shared the story of Ukraine, their culture and the awful trauma they are going through.

Diane is a passionate educator, and she has a project to raise money to rebuild a school when the conflict is over.  Apparently over 270 schools have been razed in the war, leaving many children without schooling.

At the end of October Diane has been offered a lunchtime event at the Arkaba Hotel to assist with her fundraising.  They have also suggested having a table with crafts to be sold at the function. As it will be close to Christmas, they are thinking of stocking fillers or Christmas decorations, placemats, table runners etc. If some of the items could be in the blue and yellow of the Ukrainian flag that would

be great.
