On Monday 25^th September a fire truck from Blackwood CFS visited Playgroup to the delight of the children and their families. The children were able to see the truck and equipment up close, tried on the very heavy helmets, sat in the cabin (with a big boost up from the firies), and held the fire hose as it sprayed water in the carpark. They were entranced by the rainbows in the water spray, and enjoyed making the water reach the end of the Coffee lounge.

Many thanks to Julian and the volunteer crew for coming. Visits like this help the children understand what it is to belong to a community. We were pleased to be able to give them a donation from the families to take away with them.
