The Expect Respect Project ART DISPLAY 2023.
The posters on display are some of the 24 pieces of art created by the year 3 students at Bellevue Heights Primary school as they undertook the Expect Respect Project in term 3.
The art is the result of learning by the students around combating bullying and raising their awareness of the importance of respect in relationships. We invite you to look closely at the works to see what our very young students are understanding about these important social and emotional issues.
The elements of the Expect Respect Project include recognising bullying and coercion behaviours, learning skills to combat bullying, learning how to be safe and asking for help, raising awareness and supporting their friends in need.
Professionals in the field of law enforcement and social behaviour training, including SAPOL, provided explicit learning experiences for the students over the term. Calendars are currently being created from the work you see here and will be available for purchase soon.
The Zonta Club of Adelaide Hills is a facilitator of the Expect Respect Project, and we provide the structure, resources, and event planning. Through engagement with this Project, we hope to teach young people the value of healthy relationships and how to develop them before poor habits can form.
We congratulate the students, the teacher and the leadership of Bellevue Heights Primary School for the excellent and enthusiasm engagement of this awareness raising initiative.
