Stash Sale
Thank you so much to everyone who supported the Community Classes Stash sale on Saturday last. It was the most wonderful day filled with laughter and great bargains for the multitude who attended.
It was super exciting to find that this year through our social media marketing efforts we attracted not only much loved program members, church community members and familiar local faces, but also a large number of people from MUCH further afield. Intrepid crafters from Brighton, Noarlunga and even a group from Gawler were at the doors and champing at the bit for opening time.
All in all we raised nearly $1500 for the community program. Some of which will go to purchasing a coffee urn for our other events.
It cannot go without saying that this amazing outcome could not have been achieved without the assistance of our fantabulous team of volunteers; Sue Fisher, Judith Terrell, Chris Bray, Bev Eccleston, Nancy Cranwell, Lisa Haddrick and Lynona Hawkins (who jumped into the fray at the last minute brandishing some serious fabric cutting scissors).
Thanks so much to all of you girls, you are a team to be reckoned with and a joy to be a part of. Thanks also must go to Lisa for providing the cake (and healthy option apples) without which we simply could not have survived the setup, frantic day and pack down.
Finally a big thank you to Peter Cranwell who rolled in with a trailer two days later to take away unsold patterns, fabrics and yarns for distribution so that refugee ladies have an opportunity to sew, create, knit, crochet and craft to support and assist their families, build friendships and hopefully heal some inner wounds. I hope to bring you some pictures of what they get up to in their crafting adventures soon.
We are grateful that everything found a home for good purpose and nothing was wasted or will ever see landfill.
