With Australian Government policy towards asylum seekers and refugees highlighted by a further death at Manus this week, we are re-visting this in worship this Sunday, August 20th. David Spitteler from the Asylum Seeker Centre in Melbourne, an “Interdenominational Christian Response to the Material Needs of Asylum Seekers and Refugees” will be our guest preacher/speaker. This will also be our opportunity as a community to acknowledge and support the continuing work of our local “Blackwood Circle of Friends for Refugees” to whom many of this community continue to contribute and serve.
