Christmas Bowl and the Blackwood Uniting Church
The Christmas Bowl is a practical way of assisting and supporting communities around the world that are affected by conflict and disaster, many of whose plight does not reach the headlines. The Christmas Bowl appeal has its origins in the work of the Revd. Frank Byatt in 1949 and is supported by more than 15 Christian denominations and 1300 churches across Australia.
At a time in which the plight of refugees is very much at the forefront of everyone’s minds, it is wonderful to know that at the BUC, we have been working hard to proactively assist such people in need.
We have recently received a certificate for our participation in the 2021 Christmas Bowl sent in appreciation of our donation raised. In total as a community we raised $5,894.00 for this very important annual appeal.
