Playgroup at the roundabout gets involved in Reconciliation Week
On Monday 29th May we took the families at Roundabout Playgroup into the chapel and sat in a circle around the Reconciliation installation from Sunday’s service. We talked a little about why we have Reconciliation week and about the artifacts in the circle. I don’t know how much the children understood but we felt it was important that the adults at least could see that reconciliation is part of our church’s DNA and the children have at been introduced to the concept.
We then went back to our regular story circle and shared the book ‘On the way to Nana’s House’ set in the Kimberley region, with a beaming Indigenous Nana waiting at the end of the story.
We’ve had 5 new families join us recently and our families come from several different cultural and geographic backgrounds.
Playgroup is buzzing!
