We cannot stop the carnage. We cannot write a letter to Mr Putin asking him to
desist.

We cannot search for limbs severed in the blast. We cannot give back to the
child, the parents shot as they fled. We cannot know the end of the conflict or if
the truce will hold but we can fall to our knees and lament and reach for the open
hand of Jesus and walk with him awhile and feel the love and deep compassion
transfusing into us and absorb his wisdom, which says, “I too cannot stop the
killing but I can start the mending, the restoring, the hoping.

I can change your heart.” Brokenness restored will not erase the scars but
reconciliation and forgiveness and going beyond are the paths to peace.
