FORMER MINISTER, NEAR RETIREMENT, INSTEAD WALKS 14.6 km FOR A PURPOSE
Thank you from Rev Phil Hoffmann for the support of members of the his former Blackwood community for his walk to school last week. Phil’s ailing knees, 130 years between the two, held up. 168 students joined him at 5:30 a.m. in Henley Square for the 14.6 km walk along the coast, through Glenelg and inland at Somerton to Westminster at Marion. The venture raised its $10,000 target to provide clean drinking water for a school in Tanzania Africa, where students previously faced a similar walk daily, both ways.
