Messy Church in July
At Messy Church we’ve been learning about, reflecting on and practising prayer for the past two months and in our upcoming August session as well. We’ve done a few crafts which have hopefully helped children and their families add more prayer into their days or weeks, and done a few activities that are more abstract and add a bit of fun – like paper airplanes as a metaphor for how differently we can express and feel our prayers!
Craig shared an activity with the smaller group at the last section that the kids were quite engaged in, looking at a stock photo and thinking about how the image might relate to topics of prayer such as “thanks”, “sorry”, “please”. At the August Messy Church, we’ll be sharing a section of Paul’s letter to Philippi, which is a beautiful prayer for all believers.
Then in September we’re meeting mid-month (due to first Sep Sunday being Father’s Day and first Sunday of October falling in school holidays) and we’ll discuss Baptism and new starts, and in November we’ll learn about Communion. Soon enough we’ll be back at the beginning of Advent and celebrating Messy Christmas!
Thank you for all your support and prayers.
