Walking Group 27 Feb 2011
Walking Group in February will be different. Instead of a long ramble, we will be taking a guided tour of Christie Walk, a medium-density housing development off Sturt Street in the City. The houses and gardens are designed with environmental sustainability and community in mind.
We will be taken around by a guide from the community who will be happy to answer questions about how it all works. The tour takes 1-2 hours.
We will meet for a start at 2 p. m. outside the Centre for Urban Ecology, 105 Sturt St, on Sunday 27th February. We’ll have our tour and then perhaps have a cuppa nearby. People might like to car pool from church.
Cost is $15 per person (pay on the day) and we do need to know about numbers. If there are many interested in coming, the community will put on another guide to make two smaller groups. Absolute maximum (two groups) is
30 people.
Please contact Tim or Heather Lee as soon as possible if you intend to come, and by 20th Feb anyway, so that we can let the community know. First in best dressed!
If this doesn’t suit but you’d like to see it, there are regular tours available. See www.urbanecology.org.au for more information about Christie Walk.
