Last Friday, 26th August, we had 19 guests. Many Thanks to Jan Furness’ host team and for the meal provided by Helen Brown’s cooking team. This week the host team will be led by Penny Harper with her #1 team and Nando’s will be providing the chicken meal with Bev Eccleston leading her cooking team.

• Carrots and Sweet Corn ~ Rev Leanne’s son Tim is currently in a drama play where they use a fair amount of carrots and sweet corn each week. Is anyone who is cooking for Friday meals interested in using any? It is given away each week to similar meals, shelters etc, this will run until December.
• Fruit ~ The man in Suffolk Road, Hawthorndene who now runs the little shop at the old fruit packing place will give us a good deal on fruit if you want to speak to him. Easy to find, a few doors before the primary school on the right.
