Playgroup Update
On Monday we finished the “Our Bodies” theme for third term with a Mini-Olympics in the hall, and the kids had a wonderful time, with an obstacle course, three legged running, egg’n’spoon, beanbag toss and the parachute. Thanks to Deb Wotherspoon for the loan of her mini-trampoline – it was the favourite of all the activities with children queued up all morning for repeated goes on it. It was amazing watching them learn to do it and how their co-ordination improved over the course of several tries (even though many of them didn’t have enough weight to bounce very high). Even the little ones just walking wanted to have a go. One mum bounced her baby on it and the grin on his face was delightful.
Sadly we farewelled two of our long term families and parent/grand-parent helpers this week as their children are moving on to the next phase in their lives. Both of them thanked us for their time at Playgroup. They commented on how much they had enjoyed their time at Playgroup and expressed their appreciation for all the time, energy and commitment from the team. Both will be sorely missed, as will their children.
