A Plan for Blackwood Roundabout?
This is an issue that people at BUC should be aware of as it will affect our physical infrastructure surrounding the church. Pages 73-82 of the current Road Management Plan (Edition 2) in particular pertain to the considerations and recommendations being put forward for Blackwood Roundabout. After considering 5 possible solutions, the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure’s recommendation is, “that the geometry at the roundabout be altered due to this treatment providing a reasonable balance between an improvement to the safety and the operation of the intersection while maintaining the character of the area and access within the commercial precinct.” I encourage you all to look into this issue because it is extremely important for Blackwood area residents; form an opinion and provide DPTI with your feedback. We will all have to live with the decisions that are made.
You can submit feedback by post or email dpti.communityrelations@sa.gov.au by Monday April 28th.
Nick Avery, Community Relations, can be called on 8266 8222 for further information as well.
The draft plan is on public display at the Blackwood Library until next Friday 28 March 2014, but this is not very detailed regarding the Blackwood Roundabout proposal.
